I agree that the problem is not new and Windows only.  The problem in
Windows is that once into a Windows system all files on all shared
devices are reachable by any executing program or script.  In most of
the industrial strength OSs a rampant program that gets started from a
user can only get that user and a relativley small percentage of the
other users and system files.  As they say with Windows if you can see
the internet the internet can see you (and your naked as a jaybird).
