[NTLUG:Discuss] The "virus"

Some of my favorite misused terms, all together:
Customer when calling in for tech support and having trouble installing Web
browser/Email/whatever:
"I can't boot my server off my CDROM." Or when having trouble starting an
Email/Web server/whatever: "I tried to boot your server..."
And then there's "No DNS", but I won't get into that at all.
Now maybe someone knows the answer to this, but whose bright idea was the
term "bumped off"? As in, "I was on the Innernet and in the past few
minutes, I've been bumped off by your server seventy-three thousand five
hundred and forty-eight times!"
