[NTLUG:Discuss] RH6.2 refuses to switchdesk

All,

Last night the power went off in my house and when I rebooted the X desktop was fvwm2.  It was previously Gnome & Enlightenment.  I
was switching desks the other day, so I thought maybe I had inadverdantly chosen fvwm2 (not a choice though!).  I ran switchdesk and
picked Gnome, rebooted and voila -- still fvwm2!!?  I then tried KDE and Afterstep (the only remaining choices) to no avail.

Does anyone know what could be up?
