MySQL is limited to the natural file size on linux file system it is
established on. That is currently 2 gigabytes. The 2.2 + kernels will
allow bigger file sizes, assuming the underlying file system supports it.
You can easily stuff 1 million records in mysql files and it will do just
fine.
