[NTLUG:Discuss] Need help w/ 3dfx server install

Inspired by Chris's presentation this past weekend, I decided to have a go
at getting my 3dfx-3000/AGP card working in Linux. I'm using SuSE 6.3. I
went to linux.3dfx.com, downloaded their stuff, got all the instructions,
installed the 3dfx server, and the 3DFXSetup files. During the install of
the setup, it bombs out telling me I need the VGA server installed (not a
problem) and need libtcl.so and libtk.so installed as well.

I checked the rpm archives, did a search, found the packages that were
supposed to have these files - or at least the closest I could find -
libtk8.0.so from tk-8.0.5-12.i386.rpm and libtcl8.0.so from
tcl-8.0.5-12.i386.rpm. Installed both and still got the message about the
missing files. I searched the entire disk for the two .so files but
couldn't find them anywhere, nor was I able to divine which SuSE CD might
have them either.

If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. I'm
pretty new at this so I'm not sure why the rpm's I installed did not give me
the files I wanted (in spite of what the description pages at the repository
said). I'm guessing that I need to make a pointer or something that points
libtk.so and libtcl.so to these newer files but am not sure if that's right
or where would be the proper place to put the files. TIA.
