It's not appropriate because there are dozens and dozens of *Linux*
press releases *every day* now. Would this list be very usable if all
of us forwarded a URL to a press release without any comment on how it
could possibly be relevant to people on this list? I don't think so.
If you had taken an additional 30 seconds to explain how your
company's press release was relevant to folks on this list, then it
would have been more appropriate. It's not so much what *you* did it's
more a matter of setting a policy that everyone can live with; if
everyone did this, the list would become unusable.
Btw, if you had wanted to make a case for why a URL to your company's
press release *is* appropriate on this list, you could have done that,
rather than hiding behind a sarcastic reply.
