Thanks for all the input on my printing problems, now for another twist. When
booting Corel Linux one is confronted with five choices, they are:

1. Corel Linux
2. Linux VGA Mode
3. Linux Console
4. Linux Debug
5. Linux Expert

I have always used the first choice ( Corel Linux ), but today started playing
around with the other choices. When I used number five ( Linux Expert ), I
setup the printer and it worked wonderfully, with all the apps and lpr commands.

One would think that #5 would put you in as super user, but you are presented
with the same login screen as the #1 pick ( and that would be a drop down box
with all the users and root to pick from, and then to supply a password to
finish the login ), I even tried to gain access to a root file while logged in
on #5 and it told me access denied, so it is enforcing permissions.

So I thought maybe I needed to first go in as expert, setup the printer then
exit reboot go back in as #1 the default and the printer would be available for
me to use, wrong, now I need to know what the diff is between the two and how
do they expect someone to print with the default login mode.

Once again thanks for all the help. I have checked the log files and the
printcap file and all seem okay and when logged in as #1 now it looks as if
data is sent to the printer ( I don't get the error messages I received
yesterday ), but nothing prints.
