>From the Compaq Reference Guide: ProLiant Servers

SIMMs installed in the ProLiant 1500 must be rated at 70 nanoseconds or
faster; 80ns SIMMs are not supported.

SIMMs must be installed in matched pairs; for example: two 4-megabyte,
two 8-megabyte, two 16-megabyte, or two 32-megabyte modules.

CAUTION: Use only JEDEC standard SIMMs. Non-JEDEC SIMMs could adversely
affect data integrity.
   (personal note: what's JEDEC?)

Do these servers have the compaq RAID array? If so, can you enlighten me
as to what you install and how you got it to install. I have a ProLiant
1500 that used to have NT on it, but I have taken the liberty to rid the
machine of the virus and am now attempting to get linux installed.

: This weekend I bought 3 proliant 1500 servers (dual Pentium 200) but they
: have no memory. I have tried to use some spare SIMMs I had laying around,
: but an unable to get even video or a bios beeps. Does anyone know what type
: of memory these systems used? I plan on building a cluster with these and
: another dual processor system I have. Thanks
