  if you go to www.inprise.com, you can download jbuilder for free.  That
is Bourland's java development environment.  It also tells you how to get
java for linux.  It is worth using their jbuilder environment for
development.  after you develop using jbuilder you can then build using
command line environment, though it requires a little head scratching.
