Hi,
Can anyone tell me what nfsiod is/where it is? It has no man entry and I
can't seem to find it in any directory on my system, nonetheless I appear
to have 4 zombie processes with this name "running" on my machine right now.
History of the problem...
I had some problems with Netscape yesterday and finally (after top and
ps dumped core and all new consoles returned "Cannot load interpreter"
after the username was entered) had to ctrl-alt-backspace out of X. When
I brought down the system and rebooted, then started X, I suddenly
got a cron job that was eating up 99% of my cpu. I dropped to
single user mode, commented out every entry in /etc/crontab, and went
back to runlevel 3. No problems with cron now, but I found these 4 undead
processes. I haven't changed anything in cron since I set up my daily
backups (the b/u disk has plenty of space left) last April. Any
suggestions as to what I might have done to cause this problem?
Thanks,
Mike
