[NTLUG:Discuss] Keyboard and Mouse Switching --- Can I do it??????

I have two machines (both running Caldera 2.3.  I would like to use a single
keyboard, mouse and monitor and switch back and forth.  So I bought a switch
that is supposed to do just that. BUT, everytime i switch the devices are
lost and inoperative.  The monitor switches just fine.  Is there any way to
fix this??????

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
