[NTLUG:Discuss] another vmware question

Hey,
  After the recent VMWare thread, I thought I'd post a question
of my own..
  I have been duel booting Win98 for sometime (Win98 and Mandrake 6.1
on this computer, a VaResearch system).  I would like to use VMWare,
but it appears this requires me to re-install Win98 into Linux.  I no
longer have my serial number (nor manuals or any sort of documentation,
not that I plan on needing any documentation for Windows).
  As this is a VaResearch computer, it came preinstalled with both
Windows and Linux..my question is this:  is it possible to somehow
get the registration information necessary to install Win98, from
an existing Win98 setup?
  Basically what I'm saying is I don't have the serial number I need..
but I bought Windows.  Is this serial number stored somewhere where
I can get it and use it for the reinstallation through VMWare?

PS Is it possible to somehow move my existing Win98 into a position
where VMWare can use it, thereby completely avoiding this re-
installation entirely?
