mail should be installed by default.
just type 'mail'
it will list the last 20 messages in the list, you can delete them or
read them or what ever. 'q' to quit.  check out the man page

 or you can check out your mail file /var/spool/mail/root or
/var/mail/root depending on the system.  This will have all the mail
there.  Check the mail and see what is there, it might be imortant, or
somethig you need to fix.  You can just delete that file, or copy
somethign like /dev/null over it.
