I got that too.  I just reread the nmbd man and may have a lead on this.  It
has a comment about wins.dat and browse.dat files.  These are databases that
the WINS server and master browser use and maybe the old data is being 
recached from them.  I didn't realize these files existed so I'll take a look
and see.
