To reiterate: The proposal I made (which nobody has yet shot down
in flames) is to attempt to write a complete computer game from
scratch using Linux as a part of the Linux Demo Day(s) event in
September.

I'd like to do it somewhere very public (the entry lobby at Fry's
was my #1 hope for a venue). A half dozen or so people would do the
work, some others would field questions from Joe Q Public - and in
the later parts of the 24 hour marathon coding session, run a demo
machine where the public could 'playtest' the game's latest version.

I'd rather make it a really public event - otherwise the only people
who'll find out about it are web heads who are already turned on to
Linux. If we could catch people going into Fry's on a Saturday
morning, we would really get some attention. Much more so than
just handing out fliers and such.

However, this idea has only been afloat for a day or so - and
suggestions for something better (or perhaps more sane) are
welcome.

It would be nice to have a semi-concrete proposal to put before
the next NTLUG meeting.
