[NTLUG:Discuss] Primary slave drive to primary master drive

I had a box with 2 drives, primary master had win98 and
primary slave had linux. I bought a new system (without a drive) and
want to make the old slave drive
(linux) the primary master drive for the new system.
I changed the jumpers so the BIOS recognizes the drive
as the primary master and attempted to boot from disk.
An error comes back with something about an unwriteable
03:15 segment ?!?! I thought I would be able to boot
into this drive, edit lilo and run it, and the new
drive would now be bootable - is this not true ? Do
I need to reformat the drive and reinstall linux ? New
CPU has same processor/speed as old CPU, but changed
from AT to ATX format.

I have tried making the drive a slave drive and booting
into that to run lilo. At the lilo prompt I type
linux init=3 in an attempt to boot into linux without
any Xservers running. The boot always fails do to some
gimp or gdm already running error. My only thoughts
here are that I switched it from an AT to an ATX, and
the new box might already have a video card in the
motherboard, and it is trying to start X twice ?!?!

Any help/suggestions would be great.

RH6.0 / AMD K6-2 400 MHz / 128 M RAM

Thanks,
-Billy
