Kathleen,

Depends on how much admin control you have on these systems, sounds like
you are admin:)

Samba is IMO the savor of those who want to use some of the tools for
other platforms in their native configuration but have the power of *nix
at hand:) Samba can talk IPX (I haven't tried it but it's there) just as
if it was SMD (Winxx). If you through NIS in the mix you can single admin
passwords as well.

Setup your Novell network to use the Linux box as your login server and
then setup PAM on the Linux server. Setup Samba and your on your way. A
side benefit her is that you can also use the server (Linux) as a data/
apps server if your short on space somewhere else.

Linux also has the ability to talk IPX so you could take things a little
further and when a user logs in link their home dir to their Novell home
via symbolic. This can be done in smb.conf using macros so that it's a
single point maint issue rather than a per account issue.

Get the Samba book cause it's got examples that will help you setup just
the kind of deal your trying to do. I think I saw it at MicroCenter a
couple weeks ago. It comes with the CD.
