All,

NTLUG is has done the essential work necessary to becoming a Texas
non-profit corporation; i.e., papers are in the mail to Austin. More
details about this will be forthcoming at the upcoming August NTLUG
meeting where we will formally announcement incorporation (unless
Austin is slower than we expect). Until then, a few bits of
information follow.

Incorporation Details
---------------------

The Board of Directors:

    Chris Cox
    Stuart Yarus
    Chris Browne
    Rick Cook
    Mark Bickel
    Stephen Denny
    Kendall Clark

Initial officers:

    Kendall Clark, President
    Chris Cox, Vice President
    Chris Browne, Treasurer

All public documents related to NTLUG's status as a non-profit
Texas corporation can be found at

      <http://ntlug.org/corporate>
      <ftp://ntlug.org/pub/corporate>

We'll also be putting together a mailbot so you can get public
documents by email.

New List
--------

I've created a new list 'leaders at ntlug.org' which will be for the
purposes of organizational discussion and coordination. I want to
invite all of you who either are currently or want to become active in
working with NTLUG to join this list. The list will be for discussion
of corporate details, coordination of volunteers, etc. etc.

Details about subscription to the new list are at

Kudos and Thanks
----------------

We all owe a *huge* debt of gratitude to Stuart Yarus. He took us by
the scruff of the neck and showed us how to incorporate, the pitfalls
to avoid, more or less doing it all. Huge, huge kudos to Sturt
Yarus. I also want to thank Chris C., Stuart, and Chris B. for serving
as officers and board members, as well as Stephen Denny, Mark Bickel,
and Rick Cook for serving as board members (plus all the other stuff
these guys do).

Incorporation puts us well on the way toward being able to organize
and host a Linux show in DFW. Again, thanks to all who've help make it
possible.

Best,
Kendall Clark
