Hey guys...it's been a while since I was active within the LUG, and this
mailing list looks pretty dead, but I figured I might as well post here
anyways.  My employer, Tektronix Communications
(http://www.tektronixcommunications.com), needs a couple of embedded
software engineers to share our workload, and nobody's figured out how
to clone people like me yet for some reason. So, the positions in
question:

1. Embedded System OS (Linux) Development

 * Platform distribution building and packaging

 * Platform management scripting, upgrades, downgrades, etc…

 * Strong assembly and C/C++ skills

 * Multi-threaded and multi-processor system development

 * Preferably multi-blade Linux platforms

 * Low-level system debugging between in-house and off-the-shelf
   components

 * (My personal note: familiarity with MIPS64 architectures and GNU
   cross-compiler maintenance is a plus. Specific familiarity with
   MontaVista and/or OpenEmbedded Linux is also valuable.)

2. Hardware Support

 * Support HW team on board schematic and FPGA design

 * Support HW team with component evaluation and selection

 * Initial board bring-up in an ATCA environment

 * BMC/MMC support

 * Boot loader development

 * Firmware and device drivers support

There's obviously a lot of overlap between the skill sets for these
positions, although both are very specialized. We're hoping to bring
someone onboard who can ramp up quickly, on a contractor basis with the
possibility of transitioning to a full-time employee. College graduates
are preferred, although undergraduates with enough experience can be
brought in via paid internship (this is actually how I started here).

For background, our particular group builds and supports network
monitoring/assurance systems using a combination of off-the-shelf
AdvancedTCA boards, plus custom boards built with high-throughput
off-the-shelf network processors. All the software we bring to these
systems is either Linux-based, or runs in a largely bare-metal execution
environment. Examples include our older GeoProbe SpIprobe product line,
and our recent GeoProbe G10 product:

FYI you might also see these positions posted on Dice or Monster.com. I
advised my manager to post there but decided to drop a line directly to
this list as well.
