<P><FONT SIZE=2>I know this is a little off the wall and probably not the problem in your situation but JUST IN CASE. I had a similar problem about a month ago where I kept losing file systems. I could not keep an install for more than a week. This would happen with both Linux and windoze so I knew it was a hardware problem, not software. Replaced hard drives...didn't fix it!!! Turned out my power supply was only 250W. I upgraded it to 300W and problem solved! Like I said this is probably not the problem that you have but I would hate for me to not say something and then that be the problem and you have to spend the time that I had to spend to figure it out.</FONT></P>

<BR><FONT SIZE=2>outputs the program name and stops. The -V option adds some other </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>program info but nothing about the drive condition.</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2>I finally had to give up and begin to build a new disk. ALL of my </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>user's email is gone. I use that drive to keep upgraded rpms and </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>programs purchased and downloaded online to share across all of my </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>systems. That's gone. My mailing lists are stored on that drive. </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>That's gone. One list had well over 100 subscribers and another one was </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>approaching 50.</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2>I just got a new tape drive a couple weeks ago and installed it in one </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>of my systems. Unfortunately I have not setup the software to run the </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>tape. So, no backup!!!</FONT>

<P><FONT SIZE=2>I'm going back to ext2. At least it is rock solid and I have NEVER lost </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>a partition with it. I don't need fast reboot since, as we all know, </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>you don't need to reboot linux. Seriously these machines stay up for </FONT>
<BR><FONT SIZE=2>months at a time so I don't need that feature. At least not this bad!!</FONT>
