<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2>What a tragedy. Actually, I don't mean
this sarcastically either.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2>First, in Microsoft's arrogance, it is my
presumption that they might have done something to prevent normal (standard)
emailing to be prevented. It's likely you can turn this "feature" off but
who knows where the problem really lies.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2>Second, NTLUG is not only about the support
and promotion of Linux. I would venture to extend the notion of promotion
to the migration of users from Windows, which in my opinion, is a tremendous
hurdle when you consider it. (It's like the rationale of the fearful
skydiver -- "Why would I want to jump out a perfectly good airplane???")
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2>Now to fully address the Outlook2000 issue,
please don't think of me as "closed minded" about it, but I recommend the
immediate discontinuance of use of Microsoft Outlook2000. The security
vulnerabilities faced by users of Outlook products are mostly "by design" and so
you can expect a relatively uninterrupted flow of such problems throughout its
use.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2>Soon, with the release of Windows XP and as it
eventually gains ground in the corporate world, we will see more of such
problems where Microsoft will begin to blame the internet and TCP/IP as the
point of failure; that TCP/IP is a flawed protocol from a security and
reliability standpoint. They will then create their own "more secure"
variant that will essentially be compatible yet proprietary. Maybe this
might sound like ms paranoia to some, but consider Microsoft's methods as used
in the past, their lack of motivation to change their methods and their arrogant
stance in the face of the anti-trust actions already in court. This
is not a far-fetched prediction.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="MS Pゴシック" size=2>Now, more than ever, a path to migration is a
necessary part of NTLUG's promotional role.</FONT></DIV>

you (ntlug.org) cannot seem to get emails to me in a format MS-Outlook2000 can

resolve the issue (thanks to Rick Cook for what he has done). I responded to
all visible emails, all non-visible emails were replied to with "this is yet

have not (dropped the ball/disregarded the issue without
