Samsung is discontinuing their (Android) messaging app in July and encouraging everyone to switch to Google messages.  I would prefer to not give Google any more information about me than they already have and thus am looking for an alternative.  I've read about RCS and am not sure I "absolutely need that".  Any experiences or recommendations would be appreciated.  Thanks.
