That is only true up to a point. The best advertising in the world can
only sell turd bars as twinkies until such time as people actually taste
them. History is replete with examples of such. GM and Corvair? Ford
and Edsel? Coca Cola and New Coke? ad nauseum ...
Microsoft may be on the verge of proving what AT&T proved a few years
ago: No matter how big, no matter how well entrenched, no business
is immune to failure from poor leadership.
How to apply an opensource solution to the most closely-held product
in history? It begs the question: Why bother when there are excellent
alternatives available?
