Oddly enough, I have tried Plan 9... of course, that
was about 15 years ago.  It's not Unix... in fact,
it's VERY different.  Problem with Plan 9 is drivers.
There are very few platforms that it works with.

You'd have to do a LOT of work to make Plan 9 into
something... and of course at the end of the day,
it's NOT Linux.

Would be a interesting project.  But more of a project
for somebody in college who wants to build EVERYTHING
from scratch.

I'm not quite that patient.  When I'm 82 and we're putting
the finishing touches on the thing... not sure if I'll
care.
