Hi Perez.

In regards to problem 1, what version of Mozilla are you running?

I had a similar problem with the 0.9.9 version that SuSE 8.0 shipped.  By uninstalling that, and installing Mozilla 1.2 (available from the website), my lockup and crash problems went away.  Just a 
suggestion.

RE: Problem #2, if you are referring to the Eclipse IDE, you may want to take that question to the JavaMUG list, as there are a number of Eclipse Fans on it.  I believe that there is now a version M5 
available for download.
