Might help if I gave more info. Here is the current smb.conf listing for
the share.

[public]
   volume = Planning
   comment = Product Data
   path = /home/planning
   public = yes
   writable = no
   write list = @planning
   force group = planning
   create mask = 0665
   directory mask = 0775
   security mask = 0775

Everything is working for group members to be able to edit files. All I
need is a way for world to have read only access to the share. I thought
about creating a user with this as the home directory. But, I am not
sure what read only access to your home directory might break.
